The Boogey Man

"Why not?" the little girl wailed. "Because I said so" the tired mother groaned. Everyone in walmart cast their eyes on the mother. "Fine!" the little girl croaked. On the way out of the store, the little girl smiled. In her back pocket lied her stollen prize. A night light, to keep the monsters away.

The Brave Ones

"Shallow your breathing, my son" one of the elders told me. "The white man can't find us now." We had been on the move now for days, with only rags on our backs. We fled for the under ground railroad one of the elders speaks of. Winking at us in the face of the mountain, FREEDOM!
